Get to know these world-class Italian espresso machines!
With a longtime reputation for being an industry leader in quality and reliability, La Marzocco offers a stellar line of Italian-made, handcrafted machines for both, commercial and home use. We are proud to have recently added their fine products to the Mr. Espresso store.
In 1927 Florence, brass artisan Giuseppe Bambi and his brother Bruno joined together in a business venture to respond to an Italian caffe culture that they saw emerging around them. Espresso machine maker La Marzocco was born. The business quickly gained a reputation for turning out well-crafted wares designed to ease the challenges caffes faced with the growing demand for espresso. La Marzocco found its way into coffeehouses throughout Europe. In 1978, Kent Bakke, American entrepreneur-turned-La Marzocco-CEO, began importing the “La Marz” machines to the U.S. — the same year Carlo Di Ruocco started Mr. Espresso.
This history of innovation has continued to distinguish the La Marzocco brand, leaving its imprint on espresso machine design. The Bambi brothers were the first to reposition the vertical boiler on its side to the industry standard horizontal orientation. In the ’70s, the company originated the dual boiler system, dedicating one boiler to brewing and one to steaming milk. This major shift in machine engineering required twice the amount of plumbing, electrical components, and solenoid valves to operate. However, the benefit was guaranteed consistency and reliability from the group head and steam wand, an investment that reflects the La Marzocco commitment to better design.
We see their current line of machines as a stellar result of this commitment.
HOME MACHINES
The Linea Mini is a kitchen-sized version of the iconic Linea Classic, a simple yet powerful machine that was at the heart of the American espresso cafe revolution of the ’90s. The Mini mimics the Classic in its simplicity and durability, offering a long-lasting, high-performing home machine for delicious results with every cup pulled.
The GS3 was born out of the next coffee movement, the early 2000s third wave. La Marzocco saw the desire professional baristas were bringing to the craft, so were determined to produce a home espresso machine that brought that desire to home brewing with brewing and steaming capabilities to match. Offered in two models — GS3 Auto Volumetric and GS3 Manual Paddle — the GS3 is professional grade espresso equipment in a self-contained footprint, ideal for the home — and equally suitable for small cafes, offices and restaurants.
COMMERCIAL MACHINES
La Marzocco offers three categories of commercial machines:
- Six traditional bar machines to match the aesthetic and functional needs of your business.
- One under-counter machine for a setting that demands a different look.
- And the small imprint machines above, Linea Mini and GS3, options for customers seeking a light commercial/home machine.
