This drink is a special one for the Di Ruocco Family. Combining Italian Amaro Sfumato with Calvados, a brandy from Normandy, it reflects the Italian and French origins of our family. – Luigi Di Ruocco

RECOMMENDED COFFEE MR. ESPRESSO DARK GUATEMALA CODECH, WOMENS LOT


INGREDIENTS


1 1/4 oz. Calvados
3/4 oz. Sfumato Amaro
1 1/2 oz. Dark Roast Guatemala, cold-brewed 24 hours*
1/8 oz. Creme de Cassis
1/2 oz. rich simple syrup (2:1 ration sugar and water boiled until sugar dissolves)
1/2 oz. lemon juice
2 dashes Peychaud’s Bitters


DIRECTIONS


1 – Place all ingredients in a cocktail shaker.
2 – Shake and strain into an Old Fashioned glass over ice.
3 – Garnish with orange zest and mint sprig.

*Cold brew French press hack: Use a 17-ounce French press. Add 56 grams of coarsely ground coffee (2 oz. or about 4 tbsp.). Stir in 480 grams of cold water. Cover with plunger and steep for 24 hours at room temp. Push plunger down after steeping and pour filtered cold brew into carafe.
