Mr. Espresso Ranked Among The Bay Area’s Best Coffee

“Coffees are roasted in the Italian tradition so expect full-bodied, chocolatey notes. That bold flavor works well in the lush shakerato ($6), a thimble’s worth of elixir whose recipe calls for a shot of espresso, a dash of hazelnut syrup and a spot of heavy whipping cream.” – Cesar Hernandez

Where to find the best cups in the region, from hot and frothy to cold and fizzy

The team at The Caffè by Mr. Espresso is thrilled to have been recognized by the San Francisco Chronicle as serving some of the “Best Coffee in the Bay Area.” The accolade affirms all of our hard work and dedication to the craft of making delicious, sustainably made coffee. Since 1978, Mr. Espresso coffee is still wood roasted by the Di Ruocco family at its Oakland roastery. Every bag of coffee we make is a tribute to our family’s Italian coffee heritage.

While Mr. Espresso coffee is available to make at home and for our wholesale clients, The Caffè is the place where we can share our love of high-quality, Italian-style coffee directly with our customers—whether they’re coming in for a classic espresso, a drip coffee or one of our many specialty coffee drinks.

We’d also like to congratulate our friends at Kopi Bar in Walnut Creek for making the list. Kopi Bar uses Mr. Espresso coffee to make its specialty drinks, and The Caffè worked with chef Nora Heron this summer on a very successful Chef Collab.

Thanks to the Chronicle’s associate restaurant critic, Cesar Hernandez, for including us. About The Caffè, he wrote, “Coffees are roasted in the Italian tradition so expect full-bodied, chocolatey notes. That bold flavor works well in the lush shakerato …. The shop also features drinks made in collaboration with local chefs, which might add matcha foam or spiced apple syrup.”
